This was such a slog to get through and a real disappointment compared to the first book (and really unnecessary). The whole book is basically just a bunch of people chasing each other around. The most complete long part was Samuel’s storyline, but that was minimal. Lisa usually does so much better.
This book was creepier than I expected it to be, but I also was not completely shocked. I enjoyed the switching between story lines to keep things moving. The first half of the book felt a little slow.

It was a good and fast read. However, more predictable than the first book and less twisted.

Wow! The Family Remains is the reason I went to work tired. Unputdownable!
A brilliantly written 5 star sequel that delivers clever intertwined stories and twists creating a very captivating first class read. A real page turner that perfectly brings everything together in the most satisfying and captivating way. Highly recommend! Loved it!

I don't generally read sequels quickly after reading a previous book (Peter Robinson's DCI Banks books aside) but I very much enjoyed The Family Upstairs and was interested to see if Lisa Jewell's follow-up would be as good. It was! Nice and twisty and turny (which I know isn't a real word
It took me years to read this because I liked the first one so much that I was intimidated or scared that the sequel wouldn’t live up to it. And I was right in some ways, it wasn’t as good as The Family Upstairs. But it was still good.
