This was a really fun one. I started out loving this book, I liked the Dreamworld concept but I kind of wished we got a little more of it in the beginning, however, I’m glad we jumped into the dynamic of our main characters and didn’t play games for half the book.

Sometimes Rowan was a little frustrating, I get the grumpy sunshine aspect and I know that his trauma has contributed to his attitude but the total switch we see in him from chapter to chapter plus the comments that were just kind of mean seemed off-putting at times. This also would happen more when it was in Zarah’s POV so maybe it was just a testament to good writing that could highlight her sensitivity and emotion. I can see it both ways! I started to love it again at around 40%, I like that it’s a trope we’ve seen before but also with a little subplot that I haven’t seen too often and I like that. I’m also a sucker for a good family subplot and I love Ani. She’s so funny and of course, I always love a book that shows a very real and human side of disabilities.

All in all this was a great read, it kept me invested I loved the Disney World Dupe that we get and I loved our main characters. I can see myself coming back for the rest of the books in this series.
