This is such a "wtf did I just read?" book. I'm seriously dumbfounded. I started reading this because I saw lots and lots of people recommending this so I had high expectations, but then when I actually read it I was like "wtf is this?" Seriously, spare yourselves.

This book was trauma porn. Each character had unnecessarily complex, overly-dark backstories that came to light at very random and awkward times. I found it very hard to get over the fact that the characters had familial ties (but it’s fine cuz he was a STEP uncle *eye roll* still weird) while having super wild sex. The romances felt very forced and stockholm-syndrome-esque with misogynistic undertones. The guy she ends up with is a literal psychopath. The love they have for each other just appears overnight and she magically forgets him RAPING HER ALL THE TIME. This felt problematic and I just didn’t think it was worth the Booktok hype. The sex scenes were hot but I wouldn’t buy it or read it again.

I’m going to be a wet towel about this book. I did not like it — it has so many trigger warnings which is fine because people should make their own choices. However the content in this is disturbing and it didn’t feel like it was purposeful or rewarding. The character arcs felt hollow and I’m ready to forget that I read it.
