This month’s book club adventure takes our group of readers out of a slew of mystery novels and thrusts us into the grim world of self-published smut where our nearly 18-year-old protagonist gets passed around a house like a broom during the Dust Bowl. The kicker? She’s fucking her uncle and cousins! After the double penetration scene between two brothers and their cousin, you’d think you were nearing the climax (like the family reunion happening on a Sleep Number mattress just did), but you still have 200+ pages of painfully written prose left in a book that opens with an epigraph from Frederick Douglass?! How many smut books have a page dedicated to music playlists that I skip over? Maple Hills you’re guilty as sin here too but at least your tacky playlist page doesn’t precede a protagonist calling the guy dry-humping her in a kitchen “Uncle Jake” before something horny happens. I’d say you gotta see it to believe it—but this isn’t House of the Dragon family-fucking, and it isn’t good either, so I’ll promise you: it’s fine to leave this incest-smut unread.
it’s a no for me dawg. I knew what I was hopping into but Kaleb gave off Kane from See No Evil vibes and I couldn’t get it out my head. Also like Tiernan kind of got on my mother fucking nerves and I just wasn’t into it. Penelope I love you girl but this was not it for me. Also the end? why the fuck did we wait so long for that to happen? anyway very overhyped and just not for me

This book was really really disturbing. It was A LOT of smut. But the mc being a minor for the first bit of the book was super weird and her hopping around between all the guys was infuriating. Tiernan got on my nerves sm by justifying the rape and losing her virginity to her step uncle. While I don’t think them all sleeping together was that big of a deal because they aren’t blood related, Tiernan liked to imagine them actually being blood related.
✨Beware of triggers though✨ I loved this book! It was so good. The romance was great and so was the spice.

I have a love-hate relationship with this book. However, considering that I can't stop thinking about it every single day, and that the ending made me so happy, this ends up being a 5 star book.
