Some interesting things going on with the world-building here, and a lot of strong secondary characters, but as other reviewers mentioned, the menage came out of thin air and seemed... kind of unnecessary and really weird.
SpoilerThe menage is the heroine and two versions of the hero. They are clones whose life experiences diverged towards the end of the book, but at various points the author seems to indicate that they're still sharing thoughts/experiences, finishing each other's sentences, etc., despite the fact that this isn't explained. There was no way to anticipate this was going to happen and it makes it kind of difficult to feel attached to either of them; it's an authorial choice I didn't expect and it happens so late that it feels like there's never really a case made for why this was necessary or how it adds to the novel or the relationship(s).

Going to be honest and say that wasn't nearly sexy enough but the world building was fantastic

It wasn't bad, certainly it was rather interesting. Ship full of humans encounters a crazy sentient ship filled with purple alien warriors trying to escape crazy ship. I'm not so sure I would continue to read this series though.

The writing was decent, only a few minor errors and the storyline was definitely captivating. However I found myself constantly wishing it was over. I just wasn't that into this story. I much preferred her Dark Planet Warriors series.

This was pretty good up until the middle then it became a bit confusing and my annoyance with the heroine started to build.
Then came the weird end and if you add on the sort of icky MFM I’m no longer so sure if this book was good or not...

This was a 3.5-star read rounded up to 4 stars.

This book started off heavy on the science fiction and I really loved that. It was a creepy, horror-style setting with an interesting alien race conscripted into hunting down zombie-like creatures. How cool of a concept is that?! And all that is even before our heroine and her crew accidentally jump through space to this hidden planet and get pulled into this Escape from Alcatraz mission.

Ugh, just such an awesome concept for this science fiction romance nerd.

We also get great lines like ...
The Universe is populated with assholes and you know it.

and
I am not the Drakhin you have been searching for.

The first half of this book was great, but I really lost interest in the second half when it started to fall into the insta-love category. It's like the science fiction fell by the wayside and turned into this sweet love story. It just didn't balance out for me. On top of that, this book is marketed being a MFM romance, but that is sort of a stretch. Technically, it ends up being true, but at the same time you don't get to really see it. It just seemed an odd direction to take this story. I love a good MFM romance, but this book didn't need it or really even have it.

I've been a fan of Anna Carven and have been working my way through her series. Though it started off great, it didn't really turn into something that I loved. I really wished it lived up to its initial potential.

Well, that was unexpected! I tagged this an erotic romance because the end of the story sort of is, but the sexytimes don't start until about 70% into the story because Reasons.

CW: references to rape and slavery that occurred before the story starts, a sort of love triangle
Spoiler the hero is cloned, hijinks ensue
