One of Poe's best very short stories taking great advantage of his ability to paint a grim scene with words, Poe explores the mind of a man's descent into evil and grimly plays with irony resulting in a darkly entertaining experience.

This is a disturbing tale which I think works very well as such a short form story. I like that you are inside the head of someone who is a horrible person who you can't justify the actions of, as it makes a change from most main characters. As with most Poe, if you are easily disturbed this won't be for you and this is one of his more disturbing I'd say.
