There's just something so enticing about Poe's stories. While the psychology isn't exactly realistic, it's interesting and presents horrific ideas in such a wonderfully creepy way. His writing is the only one that really creeps me out, but in a way that I enjoy it.

Not my favourite Poe, mainly because of the animal cruelty, but that comeuppance happens in the end I can smile about it! I always think of this story whenever I see a black cat, and as an owner of one in the past, I can tell you they're not all evil! My black cat was a sweetheart and she was the most empathetic cat ever, so ner Poe. :)
