Pretty similar to the first book. Every story is centered around someone's dead seemingly which can make it feel redundant. However I think the ending of this does feel like a full circle moment

I recently lost my mom so this book gives me a lot of hope and reflection on myself. I really appreciate the book that gives everyone some kind of closure. And the part about losing a baby and the happiness that left. And the change of the perspective for all the characters, and letting them be happy. Really helped me in my own dark and cold winter. Amazing book.

Even better than the first book. Highly recommend reading the first book before reading this, to get to know the main characters in the series (Kazu, Nagare, Miki, and the others).

We finally get to know who is the ghost in the cafe, and it’s both heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time to see how the events happening in the cafe shaped Kazu’s perspective on her happiness.

Similar to the previous book in the series. This is a very satisfying comfort read. Easy to read, well defined characters with a comforting, wholesome message at the end of each vignette.

The reasons I don't rate the book more highly are the lack of "sophistication". Its origins as a play are front and centre with the limited cast, single location, and  easy to follow story beats. This isn't a book with a lot of nuance or grey areas. But it tackles the themes of sadness and loss in a sensitive way and imparts a very hopeful message.

I've enjoyed reading both and will definitely read more of this series when I'm in the right mood. The literary equivalent of a favourite Xmas movie/comforting sweater

piękna książka, daje dużo do myślenia. ale widać że jest napisana przez mężczyznę po tym ile razy faceci mówią Kazu żeby zdecydowała się urodzić dziecko, gdy jeden z nich nawet jej nie zna 🤡
