I don't like to slow a burn but this book could have done with slowing down a bit. There was too much too soon, too intense too soon.
I wasn't sold on the love story which made the whole thing a bit cringe in the last half, which is a shame as I saw potential in the first part.
I might finish the series as I'd bought it but we shall see.

If you love mafia romances, Kylie Kent is your girl!! This book was amazingly hot and steamy! Theo is giving the alpha overprotective vibes that I know we all crave. I absolutely LOVED Holly's character, I already met her in An Entangled Christmas so I was so excited to see more of her story.

I honestly have been changing my rating from 4 to 5 and back again because this book was so good! I don't give out many 5 stars but I literally can't wait to read the next one and I enjoyed this novel so much. I have decided it is indeed worthy of all 5 stars!
This was my introduction to both Kylie Kent and mafia romance and I can honestly say I'm officially a huge fan of both! I didn't want to put this book down. It was faced paced, well written, interesting and had the perfect amount of spice. Dark, romantic and sexy! I love that Holly is strong and independent woman who doesn't let her dark, sexy, protective alpha walk all over her. And, I have such a soft spot for Neo.
After completing the book, I learned that Holly is part of the Merge Universe, while not necessary, I wish I had started there. I have every intention of backtracking but that is going to have to wait for now because that cliffhanger has me RUNNING to book two.
