I skimmed through the last half to be honest. It’s extremely similar to Becoming Supernatural, or other manifestation related books. I love how this book is old but shared concepts that are very modern. It has incredible historical references and I like how it ties into business/leadership.
A very nice person gave this to me as a gift. Books are one of the best gifts someone can give me. Even if I don’t like the book; I will still read it if someone gifts me it.
This book was written in the 1930’s and you can already assume how terrible it is by that. The man said a lot of stuff that wouldn’t be a good seller if he wrote it now. He seems very decisive on a lot of broad topics. But writing it in the 1930’s, I have to say that I’m pretty impressed with how good it was written for the time.
Anyways, the only thing you can take from this book in my opinion is on how important a mindset is. It is my favorite thing to philosophize about, the power to control your destiny by changing your thoughts. I am a huge believe in positive thinking. (Even tho as I write this now, I am in one of the biggest negative mindset I’ve ever been in a longgg time) maybe this is some projection.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this book, but I would recommend learning about how you get to choose the life you want to live, by deciding how you think.
(Btw the ‘rich’ he is talking about is not about money, it’s about having a rich life in every aspect.)

This is one of the best books of all time. I became pretty negative because of illness, and this book helped me a lot in moving out of that negativity.
Considered as one of the best self-improvement book, I was looking forward to read.
Unfortunately, I was mostly disappointed with it. The book felt outdated and had a lot of superstitions.
It's main idea is that anything is possible with only one thing: Desire.
One can agree that while desire is important, there are so many other factors that can contribute or not to one's success: timing, external events, luck, where you were raised, where you studied, who you met, your capabilities & limitations... It just sounds very unrealistic to put everything on desire.
I recommend reading other books for a more realistic and healthy approach to self-improvement.
