I hope to see more of the vampire librarian later in the series, but describing her as wearing a tight bun, loafers and a pencil skirt is such a tired stereotype. How does a book written just a few years ago still cater to stuff like that?

Also - wereferret! Ew, wereferret.

I liked this one a little bit better than the other 2. Mostly because Emma had a cute moment with her love interest.

When a dwarf is discovered in a glass coffin, Emma's friend is the one accused of putting him there. Emma is going to make sure that she isn't put in jail for a crime she didn't commit. Proving her friend's innocence is going to mean that Emma has to go on dates, attend speed dating, and even visit a matchmaker. At the same time, she's finding out more about her own past.
I do like that there is not a love triangle in this series but I am getting a little frustrated with Emma and Daniel's relationship. Talk about a slow burn. This is practically glacial.

I think I should allow more time to pass between books in this series. I enjoyed it, but having listened to it [I had this in audio format] immediately after finishing book 2 I think it was too much of the same in too close of a time frame.

I like the world building in this series, and the supporting characters are fun and likable and quirky.

I mostly like Emma, but she occasionally hits me as a little whiny. She should be mostly getting settled in Spellbound at this point from my perspective so her continuing boo-hooing about her situation sometimes gets on my nerves. As I said, this probably wouldn't be *as* big a deal to me if there had been a gap between book 2 and book 3.

I do like this series and I will read future books. I just think I need to take a break between books in future.

If you like Lilian Jackson Braun's The Cat Who series, you'll love Spellbound. They're fun and light mysteries with a paranormal backdrop.

Emma tried to save a dwarf from a Sleeping Spell and a sentimental Brownie from prison for stealing items from his ex-girlfriend.
