In this series we follow newly Knighted Keeve Trennis and her former Master Sskeer as the they hot on the trail of a mysterious murder of a Hutt in Republic space. My biggest criticism is this series requires prerequisite reading mostly in the books of phase 1 as this follow them and references all of them: Light of the Jedi, A Test of Courage, and Into the Dark. As such this is not a good starting place for the High Republic. However we follow fantastic characters and the series is going in an interesting direction.  3.75/5 ⭐️

Finally I’ll get to see what’s happening with Avar and the Drengir!!

I really liked this first volume. The multi-media release of THR allows for some great deep dive into different characters despite the sheer number of those introduced. Cavan Scott does a great job tackling trauma with Skeer.

And Avar 🥰 I love her! Great to see glimpses of Vernestra and Imri too! Definitely a great way to start this
