Didn’t see the twist in this one! Interesting. I like how this one tied back to Kate’s past and I felt like we saw some character development. Was hoping for some other character insight. I still am on and off annoyed with Kate for walking into these situations though. Like, girl, you a cop. You know better!

Thank you Goodreads and Minotaur Books for the advanced copy of Linda Castillo's next book. Kate Burkholder fans will enjoy learning a piece of Burholder's past and the crime solving related to the Amish community.

I really enjoyed this book as I do all Kate Burkholder books. However, I did take a star off from my typical 5 stars because I felt the storyline was pretty predictable for the first time. Regardless, the characters stunned as they always do and I will be sure to read the next book in the series.

4/5. I can't believe I'm caught up with this series now!! What will I read now?!? I don't have a ton of thoughts on this one. My Reading was very broken (which is due to me having a newborn, not any fault of the book).
