ok I originally had this at 4.5 stars but now that I’ve sat on it for a month or two I think that hindsight is 20/20 and I’m gonna give it 5. While the actual process of reading this book was quite grueling, I am so glad I read it and am so in awe of the accomplishment that is Ulysses that I feel like I’d be doing it and Joyce a disservice by not giving it a 5. With that being said, I don’t think I’ll ever read this in its entirety again, and am not sure if I recommend anyone else do so (unless you have a discussion group to talk about it with or unless you’re annoying)

I was hesitant to write a review because, frankly, I had already spent countless hours reading the book together with a highly recommended audiobook as a supplement and it seemed as though I had devoted too much of life already to reading it so that reviewing it was wasting even more of my time and energy and because, frankly, I didn't want to spend any more precious moments on this. Perhaps it wasn't the right time in my life to read this; perhaps it will never be. I read the whole thing and that's all I have to say.
