I’ve never cared about golf until this book. 🤩 The spice is spicing, the banter is bantering, it’s Tessa Bailey on top of her game. 👌 Who doesn’t love a pro athlete romance, especially when he has a touch of an anger problem 🥵 I didn’t think golf could have a “bad boy” and I stand gladly corrected. Loved it. I only docked 1/2 a star because there was a piece about 65% of the way through that felt slow to me and I put it down for awhile before picking it back up again. I loved the ending though, and am ecstatic for the Au Pair Affair! 😍

Absolutely spectacular; once again Tessa Bailey has come through with her impressive writing.

Read this book with a friend before our fan-sign with Tessa Bailey in Manchester and it's been an absolute blast reading it over these past two days.

The couple has such a fun dynamic relationship filled with hilarious banter and comical scenes that sometimes had me gasping from laughter. I particularly love Josephine's passion for helping others and her loyalty to a fault. Despite having T1D, she still shines during her adversities and I'm glad that she backs herself up with her strength and expertise in a male-dominated field that is golf. Bailey poses Josephine's character as someone whose willing to shine even more with her disability and how if anything, she strives to become someone even more outstanding in the field. I'm glad that she was able to confront her parents on how she felt about the whole parenting issue where they coddle her because of her disability.

Wells probably had the most character development in this book, going from a standoffish, down-in-the-dumps golf player to a family-guy, down bad for his girl kind of guy. Essentially, Josephine (Belle) falls for him first, but he definitely falls harder. The loveable way where he quickly fixes things up after knowing he messed up whenever it came to Belle was absolutely endearing. I also love how it didn't drag out throughout the story and that he at least knew he was the issue when it came to his situation. It is indeed quite refreshing knowing that he was the one who did the hard decision of 'firing' Belle in order for her to properly fulfill her dream of opening her family golf shop. He knew that he was a selfish person for wanting to keep Belle beside him at all times, but his love for her overcame his needs and it paid off in him winning the Masters without her being his caddie. Wells addressing his issues and solving through them was indeed a fulfilling part of this story. I only wish that there was a bit more of an interaction between his old mentor and him.

Dare I say that Bailey is definitely experimenting with how far can she go when it comes to explicit scenes, especially with the ones she put in. I had to say some of the lines made me cringe, especially Wells' ones solely because of how unserious this guy was during those scenes (hence probably a 4.5). I will also never forget how his glorious, juicy ass is somehow popular in this book.
