Sold to the Demon Prince is the beginning of Vera and Leo's story, the former a unique fae, and the latter the demon prince with a special interest in her.

Welcome to my tour stop on the Sold to the Demon Prince Blog Tour by Inkslinger PR!

Trigger Warning: Kidnapping, enslavement
Warning: This ends on a cliffhanger.

Synopsis:
Vera is a twenty-one-year-old, as of now, wingless faerie and off to her first auction-night party. She just wants a night of fun and freely living her life before she's auctioned off the next day.

Leo Vronsky, the demon prince, doesn't enjoy these parties and lives for tinkering with technology. He's rather angry that fae had been enslaved with demon technology and dreams of one day freeing them.

Review:
This story is the next big thing in fantasy literature! Yes. It is that good. The world-building is extraordinary. And the tension between Leo and Vera throughout the story is palpable. The Blood War may have resulted in the enslavement of faes a long time ago but Leo and Vera have promised themselves to free all the fae.

Sold to the Demon Prince starts with a chance meeting between Leo and Vera, where he accidentally tastes her blood. From there starts their journey of discovering a new way to keep the masses (shitty humans and scary wolves) happy and simultaneously free the faes from bondage. For a wingless one, Vera seems to have a strange pull over Leo, the exact reason for which he is yet to discover.

Set on a fictional island, Alliance Island, where Vera remembers being since she was five (after she was taken from her family), Sold to the Demon Prince is a unique story that has demons, humans, faeries, wolves, and other creatures in attendance.

Among them, Faes are the lowest of the lot, enslaved by the humans, snatched at a tender age from their families, living pitiful lives under human supervision, only for the reason that the indifferent and cruel humans need the power of the Dust that they can create from Fae blood.

But there's a hierarchy in place in this terrible society, the demons being the richest, followed by human wannabes, and then faes. Azazel (as seen in X-Men: First Class) came to my mind (perhaps except for the colouring, not exactly sure, but with wings), if you want to imagine a demon (apologies, for my references are limited).

This is such an exciting story, where there is something new at every turning point. As Leo is nearing his goal toward the end of the story, they decide to take the fight to where it belongs.
The world is going to change—I’m going to make it change—but it has to be changed slowly, carefully, thoughtfully.

This is my first read by [a:Lauren Crowne|22424764|Lauren Crowne|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1664410905p2/22424764.jpg] and the blurb reeled me in, followed by the hot cover. But the story trumps everything, as it gradually picks up the pace and runs toward a happy but ominous ending, for now, which is to be continued in the next book, [b:Stolen From the Demon Prince|61892218|Stolen From the Demon Prince (Sins of the Blood War Book 2)|Lauren Crowne|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1659913163l/61892218._SX50_.jpg|97574048]. I can't wait to read it!

Thank you to InkSlinger PR for an e-ARC of the book.

Leo & Vera: I Loved Their Chemistry

This was a very good read with the potential to be a very interesting series.

Leo is a Demon Prince/inventor who purchases a Fae woman named Vera. In this dystopian world, Humans are in the slave trade of Fae and sell them at auctions where the rich and influential of society bid on them to use at their discretion, whether its for sex or servitude. Leo purchases a mouthy Fae named Vera and two others of her kind for his own specific plans. What he doesn't count on is developing feelings for Vera and vice versa.

This story started out with a lot of promise. Somehow, along the way, the story became a little rushed, the timeline moved very fast and unfortunately, we the reader did not see much of the attraction develop on page. The scenes that the two were together were very hot and sensual. I grew to like Leo, but he got on my nerves a bit, and Vera mouthing off the way she did at times seemed really unrealistic for a Fae who has been contained since she was five years old in a compound, not let out into society.

Still a good read and I may go on and continue the series at a later date.

Happy reading!

The book is not bad.

With that being said, it is not the greatest thing that is out there.

There are two main PoVs: hers (a fae girl) and his (the demon prince's Pov).

The fae girl is expecting to be sold to the highest bidder because in this world faes are slaves, property to be sold between humans and other supernatural creatures like werewolves and dameons.

As you can figure it out, the plot rolls on the fact that the dameon prince saves the fae girl from the auction. He buys her and subsuquently releases her.

The writing style was mediocre, but clean of unwanted details that could lead the story astray--there is not that much of a story regardless because the entire plot bets its existence on the romamce between the MC and the damon prince

My problem was with the usage of slavery as a narrative tool.

I understand the need for a pivotal point in the story, but how was slavery the solution for it?

Maybe I would not have had that much of a problem with this if not for the simplistic method in which the subject of slavery was brought forth. As if it was a passing matter, something casul in one's existence.

Especially when the characters take matters into a more, let's say high-tension place:

“If I still owned you, I would have a responsibility to punish you.” His voice was right by my ear. “Would you have liked that?” “No,” I breathed out, feeling more and more drunk on his touch the longer he teased me.

I don't have a problem with the sexy stuff, but I do have a problem with merging a mock experience of slavery with BDSM. It is disrespectful.

This exciting and steamy paranormal romance novel follows Vera and Leo's story. Vera is sold to a powerful demon prince named Leo. The story was intriguing, and I liked the world-building; seeing Fae on the low side made it exciting and refreshing. The audiobook narration by P. J. Morgan and Logan Anare is excellent, easily bringing the characters and their emotions to life. The two narrators complement each other well, and their performances enhance the overall listening experience. Fans of steamy romance and supernatural stories will enjoy this audiobook.

This book was okay, although I was hoping for more. Overall it was a really interesting and engaging topic, but it felt so rushed that I didn’t get to enjoy it as much as I was hoping. Also would have like more smutty scenes as I was expecting it to be a lot spicier!
