This is becoming one of my favorite series! One of the things I loved most about Kyland and Tenleigh's story was that it was different. The storyline was fresh and new. Kyland and Tenleigh are dirt poor and both trying to get the same scholarship so they can get out of Kentucky and go to college, something neither would be able to afford on their own. This book is heartbreaking and full of hope at the same time. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Kyland Barrett is my dream guy. LOVED him. I was a little skeptical of reading this after reading some of the negative reviews from reviewers I generally trust, but since I've adored all the Mia Sheridan books I've read so far, I decided to take the plunge. Best decision ever! Kyland was the perfect guy--selfless, caring, and kind--and his and Tenleigh's personalities meshed together SO well. Plus, the level of poverty shown was very eye-opening. Another Mia Sheridan keeper.

This love story is heart-wrenching and deep. I love the sheer grit of the main characters who refuse to crumble under the weight of life’s struggles. mia Sheridan’s ability to create depth of character in her novels and love stories that stay with the reader long after they close the last page is wonderful. Strongly recommend her books.
