This is a really dark twisted thriller about an actress called Adele who after a dreadful experience in her last show she fled to America vowing to never return home again. Now she has been offered a come back role in Ireland but she must decide straight away and the whole movie is top secret and only filmed at night in the middle of nowhere. As she starts to question her own mind and starts to worry about her safety the truth is even more shocking than she could ever imagine.

This was just ok. It's your typical "life imitates art" story where the actress starts to experience things in real life that resemble the movie she's working on. It's advertised as a thriller, but it loses much of its allure because it's just way too long. Had it been shorter, it might have been more exciting. At this length, it just drags.

This book was a ton of fun! This was my second book from this author (following 56 Days, a 5-star read for me) and I really enjoyed it, so I'll definitely be checking out more from Catherine Ryan Howard.
What I liked:
- the isolated setting in the cabin in the woods
- the ominous, mysterious atmosphere that creates scenes edging into horror
- the connectedness of the meta-narratives running throughout the story
- the narratives around believing women/gaslighting
What I disliked:
- towards the middle the pacing felt a bit slow so it felt like this book could've been a bit shorter
- the ending reveal wasn't entirely satisfying to me
Thank you to the publisher for sending me an ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is probably more 3.5 stars. I didn’t enjoy it as much as others I’ve read by this author but it could have something to do with the fact I had a 2 week holiday whilst listening to this so didn’t get fully immersed into it as I was reading more than listening. It was ok, but I wasn’t gripped. The ending was pretty decent.
I absolutely loved Run Time.
It's dreadfully clever, keeps you guessing, and ends satisfyingly.
I also found the characters relatable and three dimensional.
Glad I didn't let the reviews keep me from an amazing book.

I don’t read a lot of thrillers, tbh, partly because I either feel the endings are too out of left field or too predictable, but I really enjoyed this one. I thought the pacing was solid, the meta narrative served the story, and though I predicted the major villain within the first fifty pages, I still found myself guessing and second guessing the details as I approached the third act. The first person narrative tone took some getting used to, and I still wouldn’t say I loved the protagonist, but she grew on me enough by the end that I was definitely rooting for her.
A good, quick read, pretty bloodless but still with some spooky moments.
