It just felt like the story was starting to drag and I couldn’t stay into it

Dit is een ennemies-to-lovers / brothers best friend / small town romance en I like it.

There is nothing that I love more than a grumpy hero with a soft side. Griff is just that hero. While he was a football star he took for granted all that came with this status, but when an injury took it all away he became destructive. Now trying to live life a little simpler in his home in the mountains he doesn't expect to meet someone like Nadia.

From previous books you get the feeling that Nadia has been through a lot, and in this book you learn a little more of her history. She is trying to figure out her life and she is getting bored of the wild side she explored after getting out from under the thumb of her abusive father. She wasn't expecting the grumpy stranger she met in a bar bathroom to get her. While it was one kiss it may just have the power to change her whole life trajectory. What she wasn't expecting though was that she would meet him again, as her brother's best friend.

The tension between these two is just perfection. With Nadia trying to push his buttons, and Griff feeling she deserves better. However they can't deny that they belong together.

"Just give me right now. Give me one day at a time. With you, they're always better, and I just
want more of the better days."

While their journey together is not without it's struggles I loved the journey that Nadia took to better herself and work towards her goals, and how she stood up for herself. Griff also had some stuff he still needed to work on and I loved seeing him choose to find peace with what happened to him and how to move forward.

As someone who has had a TBI I appreciated the care and sensitivity that went into Griffin's injury and how it affected him, and how it can be more pronounced at times based on stress level.

I am sad for this series to end, but what a way to go! Look forward to more books by Elsie Silver! Okaythanksbye!

I received an ARC from the author for review, all opinions are my own and given freely.

I absolutely ate this one up.
The spice, the trauma, the age gap, brothers best friend.
Griff and Nadia hold a special place in my heart.
Gold rush ranch will be missed
