I just don't care about anyone in this book... The writing perspective is a choice, and I'm not overly enjoying that either. Another member of the book club did finish it, but didn't rate it high either, so saving myself the time.

It’s amazing to realize how much The Troubles can unexpectedly seep into your life even today. A chilling exposé of religion and politics mixing with incendiary results. I’m still shaking from the tension of reading it. Not for the faint-hearted.

This wasn’t a bad book, it’s probably a good book, but it takes place during a depressing time in Ireland, making it a depressing book. Therefore I was never really excited to pick it up. Also I can’t stand dialogue without quotation marks.

I cried when I read this. So yeah it was pretty good. I listened to the audiobook, which I can highly recommend, because hearing an Irish person read this out loud was incredible for immersion.
