I think this book was more complete and put together than the first book. Don’t get me wrong, I loved both books.
However, I think that the whole romance thing moved too quickly, she was supposed to be in love with Roan, but here she is, falling in love with the boy she’s HATED her whole life, as soon as he’s a reasonable human being to her. And the whole, “you can’t love anyone or they’ll die,” thing is reiterated too many times. We get it, if she has feelings for Liam he may be killed, just like Roan. That being said, Liam is a very concerned and obsessed boy. I think he obsessed too much over Jules and her identity, but I enjoyed him being soft with her and always trying to keep her safe.
I greatly enjoyed how the story ended, I think it ended perfectly. Sara Holland did a great job on that ending. 10/10. It was just a perfect way to end the story, with history repeating itself.
I do wish we could have seen more of Ida, as I loved her character and how her and Jules’s characters were so complementary.
