This book made me cry several times, but I loved it perhaps for that reason.

Tender, fierce, poetic, and alive - what a beautiful book. As Lorde attests, it is both by and about being Black, lesbian, mother, and warrior poet, but perhaps most of all it is about love.

Wow, her prose is so gorgeous. This is my first time reading Lorde and it was delicious. So enveloping I felt like I was there.

Especially the
passion & rage of her breakup with Muriel.
Phew!
