I believe this was a movie or a movie script that then got turned into a book? I might be mistaken, but there has never been a movie-first-book-second triumph that I have been aware of. Feel free to correct me.

In a nutshell, it's essentially about how a rich, privileged female lawyer gets cancer and how she gets her wig. I have STRONG feelings about a white (or white presenting) woman writing, however briefly, about a deeply problematic, discriminatory, and complicated Indian caste system, all for the goal of symbolism. She leaves us dangling quite badly and the characters I wanted to know about just fizzled off the page.

Maybe the movie is better? It's a book I literally read in an hour and a half, so it's not literary or a hard read. The book group discussion questions at the end made up for most of the pages.
