This story was so sweet. I love the dynamics between the main characters. Exploring their boundaries and being honest through communication is a refreshing twist in a book world full for miscommunication tropes. This book shows that communication even when uncomfortable can have a fantastic payoff. I'm usually a little leary of insta-love but it is done well here and makes it feel like the main characters have been together forever.

Oh man, Throwing Hearts was so beautiful. I adored Merrick and Leo's story but I also loved Donny and Clyde's story. They were such adorable characters and their story was so heart breakingly cute. I warmed my heart to see Donny finally get to be himself after 70 years and the wedding was phenomenal.

A delightful, sweet story that could also be labeled ‘how to court in the 21st-century’ or ‘how to find love in a ceramic studio of all places’. Both main characters and the few side characters were just lovely, there is really no other word that I can use for them. If you want something with no angst, fluffy with cute banter, and great sexual chemistry, don’t hesitate to dig in.
Young Leo and his elderly counterpart, Clyde, take a pottery class as part of a community service that reaches out to older folks on the rainbow spectrum. The owner of the studio, Merrick, is smitten with Leo immediately and the attraction is very much mutual. This is no ‘swiping right’ fast hookup … their story starts with proper courtship and ends with a delightful HEA. Their dating is cute, slow, and cautious, it was just lovely seeing them falling in love little by little. While they go on adorable outings, Clyde reaches out to Merrick’s uncle and the two form an unlikely friendship … and this part of the plot is just as charming as the main love story. I certainly learned more about pottery and throwing clay than I ever thought I would but it was actually kind of nice slowing down and just enjoying getting to know the characters without any trauma or big drama. I listen to the audio version of this book and as always, Glen Lloyd was delightful.

Good just not my favorite

As always with nr walker, this book was written beautifully and completely captures you, just not the same as other books.
The characters are all great. I just missed the mark of the usual beauty of her normal work.
The side story of the oldies captured my heart more than that of the main characters. I think that's what I'm missing.
