Saw the movie before reading the book so none of it was a surprise. I appreciate the scenic descriptions. Enagaging story.

I've seen the movie but long ago enough that I forgot much of the plot. Listened to this on audio and really enjoyed it. Very dark and suprisingly funny at times. Awesome characters and dialoge. Woulda been 5 stars but fizzled out for me at the end.

I hate to say it but it felt like a bit of a slog to get through. I was just waiting for more... Plus the prose nearly bored me to death. The person did that, then they did that, then they did that... My goodness

This is a cruel, cruel novel. The presentation of the larger-than-life antagonist at the beggining of the book makes sure that you know the game is rigged for the "hero". Chigurh is unstoppable, like Death itself. Chigurh is just one of this new and rotten earth's children, and we can see the decay of our modern society through old Bell's eyes.
Also, the way the book is written gets so close to spoken language that you can almost feel that thick southern accent in your ear (wich is not by any means an easy thing).
Amazing read.
