And my 6th McCarthy novel - reinforcing him firmly as one of my favourite authors of all time.

The movie plays in my mind as a bonus track and fills in clearly items which may have otherwise been less fully formed. The casting was perfect and I could not help but read each character in their screen versions voice. One of the greatest adaptations ever
But
The book has more to say than the movie. It casts a wider net.

hé meditations on God, Free Will, and the “decline” of social values and one man’s effort to sort through those implications in his own life gives the reader so much more to think about.

How I love McCarthys dialogue and find myself in awe of how much is conveyed without description.
