Really good mystery with lots of suspense and twists and turns. Based on a true crime story in Canada. A few too many characters, and not quite enough character development.
Solid who dunnit novel. Several twists and a thread of connection throughout. Thoroughly enjoyed!

This book had me in a chokehold. I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what happened. I enjoyed all the different POVs. I felt that the characters development was great. I was surprised to learn about Lily’s past, and I think it’s so great that healing and focusing on mental health was a main point in this story. The ripple effect aspect really shined through the entirety of the story. This book was a great read and would recommend. The only reason I gave a 4 is because the ending wasn’t as climatic as I had anticipated, but still wrapped up nicely.
So good! So many twists and turns! Every time I thought I knew the ending, something changed.

It was a brilliant plot. The characters are all morally gray. There are so many suspicious characters.
Then ending was anticlimactic though. There were so many possibilities but in the end it was manic attack.
I like Lily’s character growth. There’s still opposing personalities in her mind, but she was able to choose the right thing for her kids. Her love for her kids is her ultimate redemption.
As for Arwen, the opposite of Lily, she succumbed to the trauma and live her life out of that trauma. She wasn’t able to changer her narrative. She could have been the same with Lily but chose to be greedy and cunning.
