I think I liked it ? I’m writing this a month after finishing, and I just remember this being extremely dark. I didn’t really like the ending, and I started the second book in the series and gave up.

I loved the sapphic element, and mostly liked the relationship but wasn’t a fan of the human-animal hybrid plot or just the constant mentions of practically rape and sexual abuse, wasn’t for me.

There is so much sexual content in this. Sexual talk, sexual thoughts. And then totally aside from that, there is so much sexual violence in this.

"Well, she's in a harem!" Listen. I have read so many stories featuring similar situations that managed to convey the danger, fear, and reality of the women's lives without these rape scenes. This just felt like it was coating my brain with a layer of grime, and the experience of reading it was profoundly gross and unnecessary.

Ya know, it was alright? I think maybe just not my kind of book. I was very stressed out a lot, and the romance felt rather rushed to me. I think an issue is that the protagonist didn't really do the political intrigue part of the plot, so we as the reader were kind of just sitting and waiting for the story to happen. I wish I could read Wren's story instead
