I thought this memoir was quite well done. Very interesting with mostly short recountings of various clients the author served during her time working in an LA dungeon.

It was about her evolving sense of her own sexuality, power, and confidence. She seemed to be very candid and some of her stories would certainly not appeal to a general crowd.

4.5 stars - Incredible. I really loved it.

Not for the most sexually conservative reader, but I found this memoir to be captivating. Well written, engaging, and had me laughing out loud and reading excerpts to my husband throughout. She artfully balances those funny memories by discussing thought provoking moments and including tragic personal details about her life.

Having a degree in archaeology + quickly progressing from vanilla to confident role playing professional + writing a debut book that is this wonderful = the author sounds like a well-rounded individual that would be interesting to have in your circle of friends. And so no surprise that the memoir reads like you are sitting back and catching up with an old friend.

Favorite Quote: Men mostly just seem to worry about other penises without realizing that it’s women’s hearts that run away with them.

First Sentence: I was having a typical Monday.

interesting. Inspiring. Read in all spare time I could manage to get from work (still only 2 days)
Needs processing on my side. Not the BDSM stuff, the process of character/attitude/opinion change in Jenny. Creates a lot of questions for which I need, personally, find answers.

Jenny/Scarlett is awesome, inspiring model. I liked the last chapter, about people in her life and what they can give her family.

Thanks Jenny Nordbak, I think I need to find my own "Scarlett" within me... that will be quite a trip :)

What an amazing memoir. I have to say that this book reminded me that we are never just one thing. We are allowed the explore and figure ourselves out. We can explore all the aspects of ourselves that fall both inside and outside what others deem normal and still be a sister, daughter, mom, friend, and co worker.
I applaud Jenny on both her exploration and her ability to move forward when she felt like that part of her life was complete. We all learn things in different ways and find interesting ways to learn them.
This book was both entertaining and honest. I enjoyed it immensely.

Interesting story. Not at all what I expected. This went back and forth between how the authors life is going and her mind and where it takes her, and the dungeon work.
