A great collection of zombie stories, including a prequel and a sequel to "Night of the Living Dead."

You don't need to have seen Night of the Living Dead to enjoy these stories (although, let's be real, you probably have if you're reading this book), but it certainly helps seeing how they all connect. There are some supremely satisfying geek-out moments if you have knowledge of the film. The stories are all insanely original and, most importantly, capable of standing on their own. It would be easy to chew (ha) through it, but take it slow and savor each story. They'll keep you up at night in the best possible way.

Very disappointing. A bunch of mediocre stories.. I expected much better with Romero and Maberry editing.

This collection was SO good. Some stories were superstars, others were just okay but none sucked. Absolutely worth a read for perfect zombie horror stories in little bite sized chunks (🤭).

The 3-phrase vibe review:
  • Om-nom-nom
  • ?Cannibalism
  • Character studies galore!

An excellent anthology that continues in George Romero's world of zombies. Some of the stories are far more graphic than others but nothing here really has a happy ending. All the same, it's amazing to see so many notable authors-- many of the zombie genre-- write in one place, all with the same rules.
