One of the first classics I ever read (the first was Pilgrim's Progress). It was hard to read when I first read it (I was eleven or twelve) due to all of the nautical terminology, but I appreciate it now that I understand many of the terms. I highly recommend this book. Verne created an immortal classic.
I must have been twelve when I read this... I think I felt it was pretty good back then... four stars it is!
Took me a lot longer than I had anticipated to finish this one. Ultimately I don't think this is a bad book, it just certainly isn't all I had hoped for. There are certainly some fun moments and it's interesting to see how Verne theorised about technology and the world, but it's all properly bogged down in an excess of other boring detail and moments.
Aside from the narrator accidentally knocking himself out for the action at the end, this book was exactly everything I love in a boring book. đ
It was a rollercoster of experiences that I really want to experience with Captain Nemo and Pof. Aronnax.
I understand those who didnât like this book...but I loved this book.

Mycket intressant lÀsning. Jules Verne mÄste ha forskat sÄ mycket kring Àmnet för att skriva en sÄ levande berÀttelse om pÄ den tiden outforskade platser. Med kunskaperna vi har idag sÄ kan man ju se en del felaktigheter, men sÄ mycket Àr Àven fullt rimligt och det Àr som sagt mycket hÀftigt att lÀsa om nÄgot som vi har kunskap om och teknik för idag, som de inte hade nÀr boken skrevs. Wow!
Dessutom fann jag kapten Nemos mystiska historia mycket fascinerande och de tre kompanjonernas motstridiga kĂ€nslor till deras situation mycket realistisk. Ăven det avgörande valet i slutet kĂ€nns naturligt pĂ„ grund av situationen.
