Oh, this disappointed me so much. Such an interesting idea, but I felt Marilyn was objectified, and the whole thing really didn't age well (racism, body-shaming etc.). Using ancient Greek didn't "make up" for that.
It felt very superficial and flat. Careless.

this book is too short for me to have any profound thoughts on it, but i think it set out to cover topics of misogyny, strife, beauty, gendered violence, both personal and systematic, and did so pretty well.
it didn’t leave as much of an affect on me as i thought (it would undeniably be more meaningful in its stage play form) but i enjoyed myself nonetheless.
