There has been tension and a strong pull between Tracey and Diesel for a very long time. Melissa Foster did their story justice. I laughed, cried, and swooned. I had warm-fuzzies and butterflies throughout the whole thing. I feel like I say this with every book of the Whiskey’s portion of this series, and possibly I do, but I love the Whiskey family. They always bring me all the feels.

Once these two finally give into their desires, Diesel is all in. Tracey is a bit more gun-shy due to her past. Yet, being around Diesel makes her feel so safe and happy it’s hard for her to fight that.

There are some astonishing revelations that come with this story in regards to the Whiskey family. But, as always, they band together and give their support where needed. Diesel broke my heart with the way he kept to himself even when all those around him thought of him as family. He loved them and knew they loved him, but still always felt as though he was either a burden or didn’t quite belong.

Tracey’s journey is hard and beautiful. Seeing a survivor of domestic abuse find her way to a happy and fulfilling life is a beautiful thing. Her attempts to pick up some of the pieces that were shattered years ago was inspiring.

This story gives us another look at the Colorado Whiskeys. I am more than ready to start reading about the Dark Knights at Redemption Ranch
