I read parts, skimmed parts, and skipped parts.
A good book involving anxiety and some of it's many tentacles.

“When you have anxiety, you do learn to give up on all the perfectly Instagrammable notions of how life should be done. You just have to attend to survival sometimes.”

It was incredibly disappointed when I finished this book - I just wanted it to keep going. It was so soul soothing hearing (audible) Sarah’s battle with anxiety and hashimoto’s - it felt like I’m not in this alone.

If you have anxiety, READ THIS BOOK. I cannot tell you how much more at home I feel in my head because of all the lessons I've learned.

It was enjoyable, though it read like one long thought that went on its tangents. It was enjoyable because I could relate to how she feels with her anxieties, although mine are not as severe in some cases. It was nice to hear advice from someone who went through the same situations. But then, it really didn't act like a self-help book, which it has been advertised as and been labelled as, rather just a memoir.

Also, in some places, the author just sounded out of touch with daily life, because some people, like me, can't just get up and not check our emails so often or have morning routines depending on our jobs. Some of us can't just start anew, or go away on a meditation retreat. Which is fine, but that's why it rather feels like a memoir than self-help book.

For some reason the way this was written gave me anxiety while reading it. I don’t know if my mind just didn’t like the organization of chapters or the content, but I couldn’t get through it.

I think this book might be perfect for some. I do have anxiety hence why I picked the book. for me this was actually super triggering so I do think that read at your own risk. that might have just been my personal experience. there are pockets of gems of advice but I did feel rather more anxious reading the book than normally. there’s much to be considered from this book. I will definitely come back to it at another time because I believe in the value of what is being discussed, it just wasn’t right for me right at this moment.
