I'm sorry, I know most people loved this book, but I cannot advise people to read, I'll explain why below, major spoilers ahead. (also the narration of the book was awful, the conversation parts are just not how people speak and it drove me crazy, if I had read this book instead of the audio book, it may not have bothered me so much)
Daphne is married to Jackson, they are filthy rich and from the outside seem to have it all, 2 kids, nannies, house staff, a mansion, a boat, fancy everything and vacations all over the world.
Inside, it's much worse, Jackson is a sociopath who takes pleasure in abusing his wife in every way possible, while he doesn't 'beat' her, he sexually abuses her every chance he gets while mentally and emotionally abusing her. He threatens her life on more than one occasion. He keeps his hold on her because he has used his money and influence to get documents forged to say she was dangerous to her children and threatened the child's life when in reality he tells her if she tries to leave him he will kill their daughter. She has traded her life to save her kids.
This was disturbing and not what I consider entertainment.
Now we also have Amber, she is a con artist who holds not one redeeming quality, you truly dislike her and you should, she has decided to befriend Daphne to engrain herself into the couples lives and steal Jackson for herself.
It takes way to long for Daphne to figure out what is going on, and when she does instead of being a normal human she decides that Amber deserves to get what she 'deserves' and helps Ambers plans along by doing all she can to push Jackson into her arms all the while playing the stupid one.
In the end Daphne gets her divorce, Amber gets Jackson and now is living the life that Daphne has suffered for years.
This isn't justice, I don't care how awful of a person Amber is (trust me, she really is the worst) but what she deserves is jail time for her previous crimes you learn about, she doesn't deserve to be put into that domestic situation.
I just can't say a book that depends on such awful domestic abuse to be their source of entertainment and story is good, I just can't.

Similar to The Housemaid, but the main character (amber) is psychotic and plain unlikable. Mildly predictable, as well.
