“Sometimes people do exactly what you think they’re going to do, and they still manage to disappoint you.”

1.5 stars - This quote accurately describes how I feel about this book. It is not a good psychological thriller when the entire plot relies on the FMC being an idiot. The plot holes and inconsistencies in the book were ridiculous. And we’re just combining the plot twists of Scream 1 and 2 for our book? Great.

But the very end? Like father like son, doing anything and everything for our moms I guess.

honestly really meh. a lot of it was just not believable. a prison just casually hiring someone in close connection to a prisoner in a small (?) community? the necklace? the kid at the end? like just eye rolling coincidences yk? i don't think the book ever achieved creepiness or thriller or anything tbh it was just like a bad movie you put on just to have something on. i only like that the killings did make a little more sense at the end bc i never really believed a high school boy just randomly attacked and killed classmates at a sleepover but even the killer's motivation seemed dumb

Frieda knows how to write books that grab your attention. Are they necessarily the best books you'll ever read? No, but they sure are entertaining. this went back and forth on who actually did the murders so much that i was just frustrated and didnt care who went to jail as long as someone did
