“But he needs to believe it, and if I was really dating you, I would defend you every time someone so much as looked at you the wrong way.”

Oooooh Mr. James Callahan. 👏🏻🥵
I absolutely ate this book up, I LOVED it.
Between the fake dating, the chemistry, all 3 brothers, and Bex’s personality, I’m obsessed.

Thank you to @avonbooks for a gifted copy of this book. First Down is a new adult college football romance about a quarterback and his tutor who decide to fake date. I'm a big football fan, So I liked that this one is a football romance. I feel like there are so many hockey romances out there. This series does include hockey romance and baseball. Although this is the only book I've read in the series, I like that the siblings are all introduced and set up for their books in the series.
While there were some things I liked about it: the sibling relationships, the fake dating (to a point), and the female friendship, this book didn't wow me. It felt very similar to Icebreaker and The Deal. If you like those books, you will probably enjoy First Down. Personally, I feel like the steam level in most New Adult romance is a little out of comfort zone. Also, there's something the MMC does that really just made me dislike him. I get that he's a college student who is going to make mistakes, but this was a big one that I felt was unforgivable. I appreciate Avon gifting me this book so I could try out a new author. I think this is a good book for readers who enjoy steamy college sports romance books.
