Ana Huang never disappoints. Xavier is probably one of the best book boyfriends I’ve read in a while. The way he loves Sloane so much and understands that the way she operates is because of past experiences and is so patient with her, UHHFVBHGTTGG!! I love how characters from other series are involved in all her books and it makes you feel like all these characters are actually real people. I’m excited to find out more about this ‘sabotage’ and who is involved. Overall, this book was amazing and I would definitely recommend. Can’t wait to read Vuk and Ayana’s story.

This is the first time while reading this series that the book I'm reading is not better than the one that came before it. (I'm still unwell about Alessandra and Dominic. Fight me.) I'm definitely going to keep reading the series because I'm so invested in these crazy rich New Yorkers. I absolutely love how everyone is still in the books. A lot of the time when the focus shifts onto a new couple we lose the spark of the other characters we grew to love in the other books but this series does a good job of still looping everyone in.
I like Sloane a lot as a character because she's so strong and so hard working. But we also know from her perspective that she has a softer side--especially when it comes to her little sister. I enjoyed Sloane and Pen and their whole dynamic there. I also enjoyed seeing Xavier interacting with Pen. It was so cute. I thought the way Sloane and Xavier's relationship progressed made a lot of sense and I was always rooting for their relationship while reading the novel. We see a lot of growth from Xavier once his father passes. Part of it from necessity but I think part of it just comes from how you respond to losing a loved one. Even if their relationship was a bit contentious. And we know that I love a he falls first trope. He falls first and he falls hard and seeing how much he works to stay at Sloane's pace and comfort level was heartwarming.
I did struggle a lot with the death of a parent aspect of this story. I lost my mother earlier this year so it brought a lot up to the surface for me while I was reading. I don't know if I can say for sure that it didn't have an impact on my rating. That aspect of the story was necessary to move the plot forward, however, my enjoyment of that section of the novel was pretty low. I also felt like I wanted a little more from the romance in this one. I was always rooting for them and I always wanted them to be together. But with Dominic and Alessandra and Vivian and Dante I was absolutely feral about those two couples. I never had a fangirl moment over the romance in this one which I have had in some of the other books so I think it just didn't make me feel everything I wanted to on the romance side of the story.
Overall, this was good and I had a good time reading it. I still gave it almost 4 stars so don't think it was bad by any means. I'm planning on picking up the most recent book in this series in November.

The way he read her like an open book and spent years observing the littlest of details is all I need to say to convince anyone to read this book.
Due the hype about this book-series (Kings of Sin) on Tiktok back then, I wanted to know what it was about. I picked the one that interested me the most: King of Sloth. Especially with the grumpy x sunshine trope, which is my favourite.
I thought maybe I could relate to Sloane because of her 'girl boss, cold attitude queen' attitude, but instead, I felt plainly off-put by her character and her confusing actions. Xavier (I think he was called) is her client, I get it, and she wants to be seen as a good agent, but the things she did go far beyond her job, in my opinion (I don't know a lot about 'agents' in the way she was). It felt over the top, and honestly, she could have just quit and went on to another client, couldn't she? Or am I getting that wrong? The way she meddled into Xavier's life, wanting him to connect with his family although he disliked his own family is pretty rude. Like he has his reasoning, doesn't he? He ain't telling you everything about his life just because you're his agent. I know that I wouldn't do that either. And whenever he mentioned HER family, she "flipped", telling him not to meddle in her life. What kind of bullshit is this?
I couldn't figure out which of them was supposed to be the 'sunshine', because somehow I didn't get the vibe from either of them. He liked to party and she didn't. Wow. "Grumpy and Sunshine"? More like introverted and extroverted. Which also doesn't really fit like a glove.
I kind of get Xavier, at least, a little bit. He wants to see different sides of his agent, Sloane, as he is intrigued by her, interested in who she is behind that facade he knew she put on. But honestly, he was pretty plain, much like Sloane. He was definitely, a little bit, addicted to alcohol, I'd say, considering how often he threw parties and how often he drank/got drunk; pretty much a coping mechanism for him. His father laid on his death bed, and Xavier could care less about him, which I didn't know why as I didn't finish the book other then he just "hated" his family, also like Sloane.
They were too similar to be actually coordinated into the categories of "grumpy" and "sunshine".
The worst scene, also the scene where I stopped reading and didn't pick it back up, even after some months, although I had put it into my "Paused" book pile/list, was when Sloan got drunk because that was the most logical reactiong she could have, danced on a table with some dude who had his hands "all over" her, then got dragged away to the beach by Xavier so she wouldn't "embarrass" herself further or do something even more embarrassing, only to yell and argue with Xavier in her drunken and become completely sobered up the moment her phone rang and some person told her that Xavier's father's health condition got worse and they need to leave or something similar.
I don't know what to say. Honestly. I headed into the media, wanting to know if I was the only one who didn't really enjoy this book, and online I found out that there is a shoe scene???? And he duct tapes her mouth during a sex scene??? I don't mind sex, really, I read it occasionally too, but that didn't feel fitting towards the characters, as far as I got to know them. Perhaps Sloane did want someone she could let her guard down around and feel safe enough to let them take control, but I don't know, to me, it doesn't fit. I don't know if it's true or not, as I didn't finish the book.
I skimmed a few paragraphs, I must admit, because it got boring. The beginning did capture me, I found it interesting, but as the story continued, and I saw how thick this translated paperback is and how much I still need to get through this boring story, it felt heavy in my hands. I don't know how else to explain it other than "it isn't my vibe". The story felt in so many places awkward, clichéd, and uninteresting that I couldn't get through it.
Perhaps, one day, I'll give it another go, but right now, it just isn't my cup of tea. Especially with the Wattpad-core writing, which I do enjoy, but it felt so dry and plain, and I was just not invested. Honestly, I like fluffy romances more, but they are so darn hard to find nowadays, since EVERYTHING is overly sexualised, even book covers/book merch (such as book marks...).

I don't think I'll ever have anything bad to say about an Ana Huang book.
The King's of Sin series has quickly become a favorite of mine.
Sloane, our prickly spicy FMC, delivered on every single aspect.
The family drama
The crazy romantic gestures
And every single thing in between made this book one I couldn't put down.
Xavier is what I would think of when someone's mentions a golden lab boyfriend - he fits the description far too well even with his shitty upbringing
All in all, if I could give this book a 10 star review, I would.
I also love that we still get to see characters in this series from the Twisted series because I was heartbroken when that series came to an end.

“Just shut up and follow me,” I snapped, wishing I had a wittier reply.
“Yes, ma’am.” His cheeks dimpled. “I love a woman in charge.”
i love when men.
“You would rather watch a rom-com about a witch and a plumber falling in love than attend a costume party with celebrities?”
“One hundred percent. As long as I’m watching it with you.”

“Tomorrow, top of the Empire State Building. Meet me at midnight.” That was when our trial period officially expired. “If you don’t show…” I swallowed past the glass shards in my throat. “I’ll know what your answer is, and I’ll never mention this again.” Sloane let out another watery-sounding laugh. “Are you Sleepless in Seattle-ing me?”
“Gossip Girl, actually. Doris was a big fan,”
