جميلة جداً
بعد ثلثها الثاني تصبح ممتعة بشكل آسر، خصوصاً حين الحديث عن الطقوس التيبيتية في الجنائز.

Beautiful and heart wrenching, but also heart warming. Shu Wen's journey is certainly one which should be read by all.

So beautiful, and so heartbreaking.

This was poignant. I'm not sure what I was expecting from this "love story", but it's one that transcended expectations.

Felt betrayed after learning about integrity issues surrounding this book. Shame.

I almost could’ve semi-enjoyed this book if it weren’t for the totally scammy premise that this is nonfiction. The book itself has a fiction disclaimer at the beginning, and the so-called true story is literally just stereotype after stereotype. None of the characters came to life in the slightest, and I couldn’t get any grasp of the timeline. It was just “we did nothing, random bad thing, back to nothing again”. I wanted to like this since I usually love translated works and have enjoyed basically all Chinese pieces I’ve read, but this just felt utterly contrived. Wen felt like a caricature of a person. Ugh. So disappointing.

This book touched my heart in a way I never expected. It really altered my outlook and brought me to a quiet peace that I wasn't even looking for. A sad but uplifting story.
