If you love spice then you'll love this. There's a spicey scene in every single chapter. I would have loved more plot and storyline but the characters definitely had a lot of chemistry. This was a very long book for a duet and their story didn't seem to progress much. The ending could have also done with some improvement.

Hits the mark for insta love and possessive, billionaire male.

Nina isn't my favourite character and she becomes annoying throughout the story, especially when it came to how she reacted to certain situations. The friendships that Nina has revolved around her and didn't seem to have scenes where it focused on something else other than Nina. In the second half of the book Mason's character seemed to alter and I was thrown by this new side to him. It didn't suit the alpha, possessive man we saw in the first 300 pages. These two are very toxic for each other but the tension between them keeps you hooked.

How?! How is this book both are wildly toxic relationship and the ultimate true love? This book is the perfect combination of the two sides of a relationship.

That ending though!

This is one of my top reads for 2021!

Grand Lies was a debut novel for JC Hawke & she absolutely SLAMMED this home. I am DYING to get my hands on Grand Love after the cliffhanger!

I am hooked on these characters! This checked off all of my contemporary romance boxes.

Nina is very independent(definitely not a doormat for those of you who can’t read those). Mason is...Mason. He’s going to do things he feels are right to protect the people he loves.

Definitely a must read!

In no way is this romance. The main characters are awful for eachother and they act like teenagers when they are 28 and 32. So bad. Don’t waste your time!!!

Okay I know I’m reaching for this & Idek if I’d like it but I’d there a book where the woman is a billionaire & also kinda bitch & she screws up & has to grovel bc yeah I could read books like this all day and never get tired of them but I want something a LITTLE different. The plot twists and lies in this book are crazy & just when I thought it was done BAM another one and then ends on a cliffhanger. Hawke got me there bc I’m already starting the second book rip

We all complain about instalove in romance novels...but when a book comes achingly close to how real life would play out, in every devastating detail, are we really ready for it?
