Break out a few tissues, you're gonna need them to get through the first half of this book.

I waffled between 3 and 4 stars on this book, ultimately giving it 4 because I liked the characters. As for the plot itself, I found it somewhat predictable. I wasn't overly upset when the great tragedy happened because I had a very good hunch of how it was going to play out.

Oh my goodness, I am too emotional to write anything coherent. I love Susan Wiggs's "Willow Lake Series" and dare you to read it too if you are into romance book. Just find out for yourself what I mean...

I am not assigning a rating to this book because I did not finish. The characters were boring and the love triangle love plot, despite the ability to be interesting, was also boring.

I really struggled with how to rate this book. I waffled between and 3 and a 4. Ultimately though I rated it lower because I don't think this book works effectively as a romance novel. The hero and the romance get short shrift, imo. Don't get me wrong, the book is romantic because the H/h and stupid in love with each other and they struggle to get to one another. But the journey to their HEA is ultimately unsatisfying.

Otoh, if I were reading this book as Women's Fiction then I'd probably have given it the higher grade because really it reads more like WF than romance.

I am gratified that Daisy does really fall in love with and ends up with the guy I had been rooting for the whole series. But I disliked that they spent about 70% of the book apart from each other.

I have been waiting to get to this book since shortly after starting this series and then not that far into it I wasn't sure I was going to be able to even finish it. I powered on and did finish and am really happy I did, loved this book probably best of all in this series. Excited and sad to read the next one as it is the last one... at this moment.. hopefully there will be more!

I couldn't wait to read this book after getting a glimpse at the "proposal" scene in Lakeshore Christmas. I'm not disappointed. I think the way that the love triangle was written realistic, even as heartbreaking as it was. The scenes of Julian's captivity were heart-wrenching. I like that Logan was likable but that you were clearly given a glimpse that thy just weren't right for each other. I am a big fan that Julian coming home wasn't the reason for the end of Logan and Daisy's marriage. Overall good read that I'd recommend to my friends.

I love this series as a guilty pleasure but this was by far my least favorite! So terribly unrealistic in so many ways it was sad and disappointing
