I have very mixed feelings about this book.
For starters- I hated the narration. The girl sounded too old and the guy - idk something about his voice was just a little too scratchy. Not at all what I would have imagined for both of them.
Second, I thought this book like the Graham Effect was also more crass than usual and maybe I just thought that because when someone is reading the story to you versus reading it yourself you notice it more - so that could definitely be more of a me problem than the book/narration itself.
I think the other problem I had which is solely on me is that I am so attached and love the OG Briar boys that while I love reading this new generation, any glimpse I get for the OG crew makes so happy and want more of that and have 0 cares about the main characters.
However, in true Elle Kennedy fashion, she nailed the “bed chem” (thanks Sabrina Carpenter) between Diana and Shane and this book was just as hot as The Graham Effect. Tsssstt 😂
The dance competition was a pleasant side plot and thoroughly enjoyed seeing Diana and Shane to the end on that. I also didn’t think I’d be sobbing through another of Elle’s books but of course she has to go and kill somebody. And when Shane’s dad died I was not well for two chapters. Honestly. Ugh. Why are emotions?
All in all, not a bad book, but not my favorite. I’m unsure if the next book considering the premise because I really am not a why choose or polyamorous/threesome kind of gal. To each their own, it’s just not me. Judy’s still out though, so stay tuned.

Lacked chemistry, tension and romance.
She was a total pushover, too.
