Stephen King’s writing style is a personal favourite of mine. Fantastic story with the right balance of horror and character-driven story.

Definitely not “action-packed”, but super thought provoking. The constant re-visiting of decisions being a “singularity” that can lead to an infinite number of outcomes is something I’ll think about often in my own life.

Overall loved the book. The end felt a little rushed. I feel like if other stuff in the book was edited out King could have taken more time to close out the story.

This is a linear story of one event happening after another. There’s very little character development and the relationships are all superficial. There’s tragedy and no real levity. So I find myself wondering why I liked this book, and I realized it’s because it's a plausible book. This could happen anywhere. i didn’t care much for the drama between the people, but I knew it was necessary. I was just bored during those parts. thankfully, Cujo the dog made up for it, everytime it was his perspective.
And the whole part of being stuck in the car was written really well. I was very tense the whole time.

Re-read April 2024: The first half was a 3-star book, then things started to all come together and I can see the breadcrumbs King had laid. I highly recommend the audiobook narrated by Lorna Raver. What an actress. This book made me angry, tense, and sad. I want to be Donna when I grow up. What a resilient, determined, fearless woman. I'll share a longer review soon.

Following a slow first half, Cujo really picks up towards the end. A well known King novel, the ending leaves a bitter taste in the mouth and a feeling of “what if” so familiar to many of his stories.
