3.8 AVERAGE

It was ok. Too spicy though and the spice felt stupid.

I WAS drawn in by the slow unfolding of the past though and that got me.

Very emotionally intense.

I loved this story, don’t get me wrong, but even with this four star rating I had some major issues. I loved the flashbacks and his situation with Rachel. I didn’t love the way it was written, because it gave me anxiety, but i think that was the point so honestly, that was a stroke of genius. I know a lot of people are grossed out by the step-brother step-sister situation, but they met each other *before* knowing their parents were dating. The expectation that they would just accept they are step siblings would be unfair, but I see the other side of the argument.

The thing that bothered me most was that the relationship between Miles and Tate was so toxic and I found myself wanting Tate to stand up for herself and tell Miles off so many times. Throughout the entire book I felt angry and I felt bitter. I know what it’s like to be lead on and think that a physical arrangement can translate to a real loving relationship. I’m glad this ultimately ended up in Tate’s favor, but it was unrealistic and it sends a bad message to young people that if you give someone what they want and play by their rules they may fall in love with you back! He would have never ended up with her and changed if not for seeing Rachel was okay in her adulthood. If Rachel wasn’t okay, which could have totally been the case in real life, this story wouldn’t have had a happy ending.

I gave the four stars because this was compelling, heart breaking, and well written. Was this Hoovers best book? No, but do I regret reading it? Not a shot. I literally could not put it down because I had to know what broke Miles to such a point, and how it would play out. It was all wrapped up in a bow by the end, but I still loved it.

My 2 star reviews are usually reserved for those books I struggle through. This book I cant decide wether to put a 2 star or a 3 star. I didnt struggle per say but rather eye rolled a ton. So I went with 3 stars. I neither loved nor hated this book.

I did enjoy the story which is odd because this book had every trope I generally despise. "Incest(step sibling kind), manipulation, surprise baby/tradgedy (this one didnt break the story for me), and it had smut as usual which is most books I end up reading lately because quite frankly I am stuck there

once again colleen hoover does it for me, a book i cant put down.

then emotional roller coaster, the wanting to know what happen in the past. The Ugliness of it all, I am that person who wants to fix others and Miles won my heart he loves so much. too much!

It's was very good. The ending was kind of predictable but besides that's it was good.

This book is one of those books that draws you in and makes you fall in love with each individual character for all different reasons. I honestly adored all of the characters… yes even her.

I cannot stop recommending this book to people… it breaks your heart, rips your throat out, sews it back into place and mends you back to health…
