 Ohhhh this was so so good. I never thought an Avatar could successfully battle Kyoshi for the spot of my favorite, but I believe Yangchen has managed to do that.

I am in love with the complexity that someone like Yangchen brings to the role of Avatar. As an airbender, there are expectations and teachings to follow when it comes to handling Avatar duties- it was my favorite thing to read about Yangchen debating over that in her head as well as not always following those guidelines. She carved out a place in the history of this world for herself in order to accomplish what she needed to when it came to defeating the corruption poisoning every town she came across.

This was a very satisfying continuation and conclusion to everything set up in the first novel. I would reread these again in a heartbeat!
