The story was fun and easy to read. It would probably make a good movie. The characters were a little flat and some of the choices gar made gave me a ton of anxiety. Would have liked to know a little more about Gar's parents. Also, I have never heard of cayotes attacking a bonfire (I guess it is possible). The art was great as expected and I am excited for the next book
Didnt like this much but i still wanna read the second one for Raven.
I really enjoyed this book and I appreciate the exploration of fitting in and self acceptance. However, I really like Stella and Tank and knowing that I probably won't see them much in future books makes me sad and disappointed.
This had a strong start and it does a good job getting inside a teenage mindset. Garfield's struggles strikes a balance between his newfound abilities and general highschool problems. Like the previous graphic novel, the plot seems fast and doesn't leave the reader with a lot of emotional depth. However, I think Beast Boys struggles came across easier on paper than Ravens. It flowed smooth for most of the story-outside a few side plot concerning animal testing. If this was animated it would be a cute show in my opinion.

This graphic novel does endear me to Beast Boy more than before. It’s a pretty straightforward story of a kid who feels like he’s not particularly good at anything, and then – get this – he gets good at something! A bit basic.
