i have always loved the land of oz and all works to stem from this beautiful book: wicked (book series and musical), the film, and the movie “oz the great and powerful”. i have always been enraptured by this world that l. frank baum created.
certainly, it’s a book for children. it’s pure fun. we meet many characters and simply get to explore the world along side dorothy and her friends. this, at times, would drag on as i wanted the plot to move forward, but i did find enjoyment in the exploration.
definitely something i would read to my kids.

Read the kindle edition on my phone. In the preface, Baum sets as his objective writing fairy takes that aren't so darned scary. Unfortunately, not scary means no real narrative conflict.

I looooved the Oz books as a kid and was afraid that re-reading would ruin the magic. It didn't. Highly recommended.
