This was my first time reading this book and I really enjoyed it.
We all know the story from the films but the book is so much more. The characters are more rounded in the book. I loved how you realise reading the book that the Scarecrow really does have a brain, even though he thinks he doesn't - he thinks out the solution to problems before the others, the TInman does have a heart, he is so caring and wants to help everyone, the Lion does have courage as he saves them all in various situations.
Dorothy learns a lot from all she meets and grows up in many ways.

I enjoyed this more than I expected I would. Some truly wild moments, and honestly more violence than I expected!
Description:
Follow the yellow brick road!
Dorothy thinks she is lost forever when a terrifying tornado crashes through Kansas and whisks her and her dog, Toto, far away to the magical land of Oz. To get home Dorothy must follow the yellow brick road to Emerald City and find the wonderfully mysterious Wizard of Oz. Together with her companions the Tin Woodman, the Scarecrow and the Cowardly Lion whom she meets on the way, Dorothy embarks on a strange and enchanting adventure.
My Thoughts:
So Wizard of oz was one of my favorite classics growing up. This is the frist time i've read it in 14 years so a super long time. Anyway i still enjoyed it but not as much as i did in the past. I think that is mostly the writing. It doesn't suck me in like it used to. But thats okay. I think if you have a young one than this is a great book to read to them. It's a fun time & i think will be a book that sucks them in. :)
