This was one of the most vulnerable memoirs I have ever read. It is full of contradictions, but they make perfect sense to me, at least. They are the same contradictions I think most people with human bodies, especially women, feel about their body and their worth.

Every man should be forced to read or listen to this book with their mouths taped shut so they can’t argue with the book or insert their unneeded opinions on the subject. Roxane Gay opens herself up to the reader about her experiences and shines a much needed light on the shady darkness of rape and body shaming. Her writing is incredible. I am so thankful that she was willing to share her story.
