I wanted to love this book, but it felt so empty. Janet was a good character, but a lot of the situations she faced seemed to be repeats of previous ones, so even 188 pages felt too long, and a lot of it was caricature-like, but not in the humorous way that the endorsements seemed to imply.
I did really like the very last section of the book, when Claws is introduced up until the tragic ending. I wish there had been a long span of time between those two events - the book would have been significantly stronger.
